Sni sna snappy, snappy, snappy, snapchat code

I’m sure you all remember the above song and every time someone says Snapchat, this song immediately comes to mind. Just me? #awkward

As a follow-up from my last blog ‘why Snapchat’ I wanted to write a series of blogs to help you maximise your Snapchat marketing efforts.

The first in the list… Snapcode.

Snapchat is the same as every other social platform, you don’t just build it and they will come, you have to work at it day by day.

The first thing you need to know is how to get your Snapchat code. Your Snapchat code can be used by other people to find and add you on Snapchat.

To find your Snapchat code, you will need to:

  1. Open your Snapchat app to the ‘take photo’ screen
  2. Tap the Snapchat ‘ghost’ icon and your profile will appear
  3. Tap it and add a selfie or a photo of your logo, or leave it white and take a screenshot (if you have some graphic design skill you can change the white to whatever you like)
  4. Crop the photo so it just has your Snapchat code (like the Whitehouse has done below):

Now that you have your Snapchat code, you can use this to post on your other social media platforms (like Facebook and Instagram) and encourage your existing followers to share with their friends and follow you on Snapchat. Now you can sit back and watch some of the love roll in.

How can people add me from my Snapchat code?
Most users of Snapchat know how this function works, but in case you’re not sure, all your have to do is bring up your photo screen to take a photo and hover over the Snapchat code and tap the screen. A box will pop up for you to add the user to your Snapchat friends. How many of you just added the Whitehouse example above? I thought so.

I hope you enjoyed Part Two of my Snapchat blogs, stay tuned as next time I talk content and smashchatting (smashing it on Snapchat)
